Golden-Ross-Kaserne, Cultural heritage museum in Mainz, Germany.
The Golden-Ross-Kaserne features a significant golden horse figure above its main entrance, marking its past as electoral stables.
Built between 1766 and 1767 under Prince-Elector Emmerich Joseph von Breidbach zu Bürresheim, the structure was designed by architect Jakob Joseph Schneider.
The building transformed from electoral stables to a theater, military barracks, and finally a museum displaying Roman stone monuments and regional artifacts.
The museum maintains full wheelchair accessibility and presents exhibits of antiquities and paintings across multiple floors of the restored baroque building.
Between 1770 and 1773, the complex received a riding arena modeled after the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, demonstrating German-Austrian architectural connections.
