Harburg

Harburg is a castle perched on a steep hill above the Wornitz River valley. The structure includes multiple towers, a ring wall, and residential buildings within the fortified complex.

The castle was first recorded in 1150 and served as a stronghold during the Staufer dynasty. It passed to the Counts of Oettingen in 1299.

The castle complex features a medieval chapel, prison tower, and defensive structures showing building styles from different periods. These elements give visitors a sense of how people lived within the fortifications.
