Harriersand is a river island in the Weser that stretches between Bremen and Bremerhaven. It varies in width across its length and contains weekend homes along with open green spaces.
The island took its current form around 1930 when seven smaller river islands were merged during a reshaping of the Weser course. This consolidation used mud and sand to create a larger landmass.
