Altes Rathaus, Renaissance town hall at Market Square, Bocholt, Germany

The building displays Dutch brick Renaissance architecture with a symmetrical facade divided into eight vertical axes and three horizontal floors.

Built between 1618 and 1621, the town hall was extensively damaged in World War II and underwent reconstruction from 1948 to 1955.

The central gable features Saint George, the city patron, while the balustrade rests on consoles decorated with animal and human faces.

Since 1977, the building functions as a civil registry office where citizens can arrange marriage ceremonies in its first-floor facilities.

The ground floor contained a covered arcade connecting the courthouse, city weighing room, meat hall, and guard quarters.
