Holter Wald

Holter Wald is a protected nature reserve located in Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock featuring forest areas and diverse habitats. The site includes an educational trail with information boards about local plants and animals, as well as wetland and pond areas.

The area received protected status in 2004 to safeguard its natural resources and biodiversity. Further conservation efforts were implemented afterward to enhance habitats and strengthen its protected status.

The forest serves as a place where visitors engage directly with nature through interactive stations designed for hands-on learning. Families and school groups use these facilities to discover local ecosystems and wildlife firsthand.

The forest can be accessed via Dechant-Brill-Straße where parking is available free of charge. A marked circular route guides visitors through the site at their own pace.

The site contains a pond system and wetland areas that support specialized ecosystems within the forest. These water features attract various aquatic animals and birds that visitors can observe while walking.
