Internationales Artistenmuseum, Performance arts museum in Wandlitz, Germany
The Internationales Artistenmuseum displays costumes, props, documents, and multimedia elements highlighting the careers of circus and variety show performers through extensive collections.
The museum opened on September 5, 1997, founded by Roland Weise, a journalist who started collecting performance arts materials after meeting Soviet magician Emil Kio.
The institution maintains 12,000 historical books, 1,300 posters, 35,000 program sheets, and 1,500 records documenting the evolution of circus and variety entertainment.
The facility receives 17,500 visitors annually and offers educational programs, workshops, and guided tours exploring the performance arts through artifacts and exhibitions.
The museum collection includes an authentic Winchester rifle owned by Buffalo Bill and a preserved polar bear from the GDR State Circus.
