Tesoro acumulado de Neupotz

The Neupotz hoard is a collection of over 1000 metal objects from Roman times, including bronze vessels, coins, tools, weapons, and items for religious use. The pieces come from different periods of Roman rule and show great variety in craftsmanship and the materials that makers used.

The hoard was discovered during an illegal excavation near an Upper Rhine branch close to Neupotz in Rhineland-Palatinate and later moved to a museum. The mix of objects suggests that people gathered them over many centuries.

The objects show how people lived in a Roman province and reveal connections between Roman settlers and Germanic communities in the region. You can see what mattered in daily routines and how different cultures coexisted in the same space.
