The Steinhauermuseum Mühlbach is a history museum in Mühlbach, a district of Eppingen, Germany, housed in a historic building from 1903. It displays tools, models, and photographs that document the local sandstone quarrying trade and the daily lives of the workers behind it.
Sandstone quarrying in Mühlbach reached its peak in the late 19th century, shaping the local economy and way of life for decades. When demand declined in the early 20th century, the trade faded, and the museum was later established to keep that chapter alive.
The museum opens on Sundays and public holidays from May to October, and entry is free of charge. Group tours can be arranged in advance and may include the adjacent old smithy.
The building that houses the museum once served as the local town hall and school before being repurposed. Right next to it stands an old smithy opened in 2019, where visitors can see how tools were sharpened and horses shod to support the stone trade.
