Oberschule am Leibnizplatz, Secondary school and cultural heritage monument in Neustadt, Bremen, Germany
The Oberschule am Leibnizplatz combines Gothic and Art Nouveau architectural elements in its design, featuring distinctive red brick facades and decorative stonework throughout the building.
The educational institution opened its doors in 1909 as Realschule Neustadt and underwent several transformations, including damages during World War II and subsequent reconstruction efforts.
The institution houses the Bremen Shakespeare Company since 1988, making theater arts an integral part of the educational curriculum for students and local community members.
Students can choose from five different upper secondary profiles, including Culture Under the Microscope and Evolution Future Responsibility, leading to various qualification paths.
The school stands as the only institution in Germany offering a specialized performance course in Dramatic Arts, established in 2018.
