LKA Longhorn, Cultural center in Wangen district, Stuttgart, Germany
LKA Longhorn is a live music venue with capacity for about 1,500 people housed in a former saloon building. The space hosts performances across rock, pop, electronic, and many other genres in a direct, intimate acoustic setting.
The location opened in 1984 as a country salon and initially served American military personnel stationed in Stuttgart. It later became an important venue for live music of many different styles across the city.
The venue transformed from a country-western saloon into a central performance space, hosting international artists like Nirvana, Blue Öyster Cult, and Faith No More.
The venue is reachable by subway lines U-13 and U-9; Hedelfinger Straße station is the nearest exit point. From there, it takes about six minutes to walk to the venue.
The venue organized Germany's first public performance of this type in 1984, which sparked significant reactions from authorities and the public. This event marked a remarkable turning point for nightlife and performance art in the region.
