St. Peters Church

St. Peters Church in Bosau is a Romanesque structure built from fieldstone with distinctive rounded arches dating to the 12th century. The building displays typical features of northern German Romanesque style through its simple yet sturdy stone construction.

Bishop Vicelinus founded the church in 1151 during the Christianization of Slavic East Holstein and made it his temporary residence. The religious leader passed away in 1154, leaving behind a significant mark on this regional period.
