Bismarcksäule Waldshagen, Bismarck tower in Bösdorf, Germany.
Bismarcksäule Waldshagen is a tower built from granite and brick that rises to a height of 26 meters and measures 6 meters in diameter. The structure features two reinforcement rings at heights of 8 and 18 meters that provide additional stability to the construction.
Construction of the tower was completed in 1913 and served its original purpose for a short time. Just a few years later, in 1918, an attempted demolition caused significant damage to the crown section of the structure.
The monument displays an inscription honoring Bismarck that runs around the upper ring, reflecting the significance of the figure for the region. The round design and natural stone facade show building practices typical of that era.
The tower sits approximately 150 meters from Lake Vierer on private property and is not open to visitors. All openings have been sealed with masonry and concrete to protect the interior.
The tower stands on an artificial plateau accessible by a 14-step staircase that adds to the structure's overall height. A fire bowl that once sat at the top was removed in 1986.
