Villa Schaaffhausen, Historicist villa in Rommersdorf, Germany.

Villa Schaaffhausen is a grand residence built in the historicist style, situated on sloping terrain that rises from west to east toward Korferberg. The main structure combines castle-like features with a northern wing designed in Tudor fashion.

The estate's foundations came together around 1770 when two vineyard plots were merged and an old stone tower was removed, which had marked earlier fortified structures. The present villa was constructed later as a grand historicist residence.

The residence served as a meeting place for influential figures in the 1800s, including military leaders, clergy, and nobility from across the region. Its role during that era made it a significant social destination for the upper classes.

The residence underwent extensive restoration beginning in 2021, with plans to add new residential buildings and open the western park for public access. Visitors should check current conditions and access options before planning a visit.

Between 1892 and 1906, the Queen of Sweden chose this property as her vacation residence, which led to the construction of a small classical round temple on the grounds. This structure remains as a trace of that royal European chapter in the estate's story.
