The Villa Schaaffhausen sits on ascending terrain from west to east toward Korferberg, featuring a castle-like structure with a north wing in Tudor style.
The initial estate emerged from merging two vineyards in 1770, with Peter Gottschalk Wasserfall demolishing a stone tower indicating former castle grounds.
Between 1870 and 1890, the villa became a central meeting point for military officials, church representatives, and nobility, including future Emperor Wilhelm II.
The villa underwent extensive renovation starting in 2021, with plans to construct four residential buildings and make the western park accessible to the public.
The Queen of Sweden selected this residence for her vacations between 1892 and 1906, leading to the construction of a classical round temple.
