Museum Lake Starnberg

Museum Lake Starnberg exhibits regional art, artifacts, and a collection of landscape paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries depicting the lake region.

Established in 1914, the museum occupies Lochmann House, a preserved 1693 farmhouse that represents the oldest agricultural structure in Starnberg.

The museum displays the royal ceremonial ship Dolphin, measuring 12 meters in length, which belonged to the Wittelsbach dynasty's Bavarian fleet.

The museum opens Wednesday through Friday from 14:00 to 18:00 and weekends from 11:00 to 18:00, with reduced admission prices on the first Sunday.

A chapel within the museum contains a significant religious statue created by sculptor Ignaz Günther in 1755, known as the Female Saint of Starnberg.
