Abbaye de Verchen

The monastery church features a rectangular brick structure with pointed arch windows and a five-sided choir section facing east with medieval stained glass windows.

Founded in 1191 by Bishop Sigwin of Cammin, the monastery moved to Verchen in 1269 where construction of the current church began.

The church contains preserved artworks including 15th-century choir stained glass windows depicting biblical scenes and coats of arms of regional noble families.

Located at Pastorweg 7 in Verchen, the church maintains regular prayer services and welcomes visitors to explore its medieval architecture and artifacts.

The monastery accumulated 7,000 hectares of land at its economic peak and received numerous donations from the Duchy of Pomerania and noble families.
