Kaisereiche

The Kaisereiche is an ancient pedunculate oak growing near Füttersee lake in Bavaria, standing approximately 24 meters tall with a substantially thick trunk. The tree occupies a natural setting beside the lake, where walking paths lead visitors directly to it.

The oak originated around 1600 and represents one of the region's oldest surviving trees. Regular measurements have been recorded since 1990 to document how the tree has changed over recent decades.

The name refers to imperial significance, reflecting how locals have long honored this tree as a natural gathering place. Visitors and residents gather here to experience a direct connection with something that has stood through centuries.

The tree is easily reached via walking paths around Füttersee lake near Geiselwind in Bavaria. Visit during milder months when the paths are dry and more comfortable for walking.

The tree's root system extends deep into the soil, providing stability despite its great height and mass. This deep anchoring is characteristic of ancient oaks that have survived for centuries.
