Raitenhaslach Cistercian Abbey, Cistercian monastery in Burghausen, Germany

The monastery complex includes the Church of St. George, a 16th-century water tower, and multiple baroque structures spread across landscaped grounds near the Salzach River.

Founded in 1143 by Count Wolfker de Tegerwac and his wife Hemma, the monastery remained active until its secularization in 1803, when many buildings were demolished.

The monastery church contains elaborate frescoes by Johannes Zick depicting the life story of Saint Bernard across three ceiling bays.

The Stone Hall and other restored spaces within the monastery now serve as venues for academic conferences, research meetings, and cultural exhibitions.

The monastery houses the Pope's Room, which received Pope Pius VI in 1782, and maintains its historical position as the first Cistercian establishment in Altbayern.
