Organo di S. Andrea, Pipe organ in St. Andreas Church, Soest, Germany

The organ of St. Andreas contains 326 pipes, with numerous original components dating from the medieval period still functioning in the present structure.

Built between 1425 and 1431, this pipe organ first served the Church of Old St Thomas before its relocation to Ostönnen in 1721 by Johann Patroclus Möller.

The instrument stands as a reference point for music scholars and performers who study the evolution of organ construction techniques and medieval musical practices.

Regular maintenance and careful preservation allow this medieval instrument to remain in playable condition, making it accessible for performances and educational purposes.

Half of the original wooden pipes from the 15th century remain intact, demonstrating the exceptional durability of medieval craftmanship in organ construction.
