Neues Maxim, Independent cinema in Neuhausen-Nymphenburg, Munich, Germany.
Neues Maxim is a small cinema in the Landshuter Allee area of Neuhausen-Nymphenburg with two screening rooms. The larger hall seats around 60 people while the smaller one holds approximately 47 viewers.
The cinema was founded in 1912 as Lichtspiele des Westens and carried various names throughout its history. It survived World War II without damage and has operated continuously since its opening.
The theater maintains a programming schedule that combines independent productions with carefully selected contemporary releases throughout the calendar year.
The U-Bahn line U1 stops at Rot-Kreuz-Platz station nearby, while the S-Bahn line S1 stops at Donnersberger Brücke station. Both stations provide convenient access to the cinema with short walking distances.
A second screen was added in 2016 and significantly expanded what the venue could offer. This expansion allowed multiple different films to be shown simultaneously within the same building.
