Kleinsteinhöhle, Natural cave in Sebnitz, Germany.

Kleinsteinhöhle is a sandstone cave with a natural arch formation carved into the rock near Sebnitz. The opening provides access for visitors to explore the hollow space and observe the geological structure up close.

An inscription carved at the entrance in 1586 identifies this location with one of the oldest rock carvings found in the Saxon Switzerland region. The age of this marker reveals that the site held importance for people traveling through the area for centuries.

The cave has appeared in artworks by notable German artists like Adrian Ludwig Zingg and Ludwig Richter during the 1800s. These historical depictions show how the natural formation has attracted people's attention for generations.

Access is via a marked hiking path from Wanderparkplatz Sturmbauers Eck, with roughly 15 minutes of walking through forest before reaching the cave. Wooden stairs make the final approach easier and help navigate the sloped ground safely.

The location is popular with climbers and offers more than 90 different climbing routes across various difficulty levels. This concentration of routes makes it a significant training spot for the regional climbing community.
