Sebnitz

The municipality spans across 88 square kilometers of land between the Saxon Switzerland mountains and Lusatian Highlands, incorporating nine distinct districts at 379 meters elevation.

First documented in 1223 during border arrangements between Bohemia and Meissen diocese, Sebnitz received official town status in 1451 through municipal rights declaration.

The town maintains strong connections to its industrial heritage through textile manufacturing traditions, particularly in the production of lace and artificial flowers.

Regional trains connect Sebnitz to Dresden, Bad Schandau, and other Saxon cities through the Rumburk-Sebnitz railway line and Kirnitzschtalbahn tramway system.
