St. Paul's Church

St. Paul's Church is a neogothic church building in Munich that rises about 97 meters and stands out in the city skyline. The structure uses limestone on its exterior walls while the interior features Upper Bavarian tuff stone in its architectural design.

The church was built in the middle of the 19th century and shaped the look of the developing neighborhood. Following severe damage from warfare and later an aircraft incident, the building underwent major restoration work.

The church is named after the Apostle Paul and displays Gothic forms inside with pointed arches and colored glass windows. It serves as a spiritual center for the neighborhood community and remains an important gathering place for worship and reflection.

A military aircraft collided with the church steeple in 1960 and caused significant damage, making this an unusual part of the building's story. This rare event remains part of the local memory and adds to the building's narrative.
