Krankenhaus Lehe

The Krankenhaus Lehe building features three main stories with numerous projections and recesses, incorporating natural lighting and ventilation throughout its structure.

The hospital opened its doors on September 1, 1906, following a period of inadequate healthcare facilities in the Lehe district of Bremerhaven.

The main building reflects architectural elements from the neogothic period, with detailed brickwork and over-gabled risalits representing early 20th-century German design.

After serving as a hospital until 1976, the building at Wurster Straße 49 now functions as offices for the local health department.

The mortuary section of the complex contains preserved rose windows and specialized architectural details distinct from the main hospital structure.
