MBS Arena Potsdam, Sports arena in Potsdam, Germany
The MBS Arena is an indoor sports facility located in the Sportpark Luftschiffhafen in Potsdam, made up of a main hall with three courts and a separate hall with a single court. The main hall has flexible seating that can hold around 2,050 spectators (about 1,900 square meters of floor space), making it suitable for competitions of different scales.
The arena opened in 2012 as part of a broader effort to turn the old airship base grounds into a modern sports complex. The site had previously been used for airship operations, and its conversion gave the area a new purpose rooted in sport.
The arena is home to SC Potsdam's volleyball team, one of the top clubs in the German Bundesliga, which draws devoted fans for home matches throughout the season. On match days, the stands fill quickly and the energy inside the building is easy to feel even before the game begins.
The Sportpark Luftschiffhafen is on the western edge of Potsdam and can be reached by bus or bike without difficulty. For events, it helps to check the entrance location in advance, as the park covers a large area with multiple access points.
The naming rights belong to Mittelbrandenburgische Sparkasse, a regional savings bank, which is unusual because sports halls in Germany are more often named after athletes or cities than financial institutions. The bank's logo is visible throughout the venue, making the commercial tie hard to miss.
