Lister reservoir, Water reservoir in Attendorn, Germany
The Lister Reservoir spans across three municipalities - Attendorn, Drolshagen, and Meinerzhagen - at an elevation of 322 meters above sea level.
Built in 1912, the reservoir was designed as a preliminary water storage facility for the Bigge Dam and continues to maintain water levels in the River Ruhr.
The reservoir brings together communities from three different municipalities who coordinate their efforts in managing this essential water resource.
Visitors can access multiple hiking trails around the reservoir, with dedicated parking areas and facilities for outdoor activities throughout the year.
The reservoir system generates 24 million kilowatt-hours of electrical energy annually through its five turbines at the Lister and Bigge hydropower stations.
