Mevlana-Moschee, Islamic mosque in Ravensburg, Germany
The Mevlana Mosque is a prayer house in Ravensburg topped with a silver dome and one minaret. Inside, traditional elements including the mihrab, kursi, and minbar are decorated with blue faience tiles, alongside assembly halls, training spaces, a library, and washing areas.
The Turkish-Islamic Community purchased the property in 1987 and developed a building complex on the site. The current structure was completed in 2008 to serve the Muslim community in the city.
The mosque is named after the Islamic mystic and poet Rumi, serving as a gathering space for prayer, education, and community events. Visitors experience an active community that balances religious practice with social programs.
The building sits on Schützenstrasse and can hold approximately 700 worshippers with various facilities including training rooms, a library, and a kitchen. Visitors should check current opening hours and visit guidelines before stopping by.
The former prayer hall has been converted into a sports facility, showing how the building has adapted to changing community needs. This conversion allows sports and spiritual practice to coexist under one roof.
