Museum und Park Kalkriese

The museum displays more than 400 Roman artifacts discovered at the site, including weapons, coins, and military equipment from ancient battles.

The discovery of three Roman sling bullets in 1988 initiated extensive archaeological excavations, revealing evidence of the Battle of Teutoburg Forest in 9 CE.

The museum organizes biennial Roman and Germanic Days events, where visitors experience historical reenactments, traditional crafts, and ancient combat demonstrations.

The museum welcomes visitors from April through October between 10:00 and 18:00, while winter hours run Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00.

The modern museum building features a distinctive facade made of weathering steel and glass windows, designed by Swiss architects Annette Gigon and Mike Guyer.
