Paffelsberg is a mountain in Beuel that rises to approximately 195 meters and marks the highest elevation within the city limits of Bonn in North Rhine-Westphalia. The eastern and western sides offer different perspectives on the surrounding landscapes and settlements.
Archaeological findings from around 4000 BCE, including three burial mounds on the western slope, show early human settlement in the Paffelsberg area. These discoveries demonstrate that the region has been inhabited for thousands of years.
The Foveaux House, built in 1820 by Heinrich Josef Foveaux, once served as a meeting place for students and today functions as a rest stop for hikers. The site shows how older buildings change their purpose while remaining part of everyday use.
