Palais Dietrich, Cultural heritage monument in Dessau-Roßlau, Germany
The Palais Dietrich stands on Zerbster Street with a two-story structure featuring a mansard roof and pronounced central projection in its facade design.
Prince Dietrich used this residence from 1752 until 1769, after which Prince Franz transferred the building to the Philanthropinum school from 1777 to 1793.
The palace transformed into an educational center when the city library of Dessau acquired it in 1986 to store collections from the former state library.
Located at coordinates 51°50'17.2"N and 12°14'44.2"E, the palace underwent renovation work in 2020 with temporary relocation of contents to the Old Water Tower.
The building rests on shallow foundations of only 50 to 60 centimeters deep, constructed with fieldstones and clay-set masonry stones.
