Schloss Hagenburg, Heritage monument in Hagenburg, Germany.

The L-shaped castle stands near Lake Steinhude, featuring a combination of half-timbered architecture and neoclassical designs across its two main wings.

First documented in 1369 as Hagenborch, the castle served as a protective stronghold for the Counts of Schaumburg before becoming a summer residence.

Count Friedrich Christian added the southern wing in 1686, while Countess Juliane initiated a seven-year renovation project in 1793 following neoclassical principles.

The castle functions as an auction house, with public access limited to four annual preview days when visitors can explore the historical interiors.

The surrounding park contains a dedicated Rhododendron Avenue leading directly to the main building, providing seasonal displays of flowering plants.
