The Erhard-Wunderlich-Sporthalle features a suspended concrete roof structure with a five-meter deflection, accommodating up to 3,093 spectators for various sporting events.
Built in 1964-1965 for 3.95 million marks, the sports hall hosted six preliminary handball matches during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.
The venue gained national recognition when it hosted two episodes of the popular German television show 'Wetten, dass..?' in 1982 and 1983.
Located at Ulrich-Hofmaier-Str. 30, the sports hall provides facilities for basketball, volleyball, badminton, and soccer, with separate changing rooms and showers.
In 1976, the sports hall hosted an exhibition boxing match featuring Muhammad Ali against Karl Mildenberger and Jimmy Ellis.
