St. Fronleichnam

St. Fronleichnam is a church with a striking circular design that rises on twelve robust columns and features expansive windows throughout its walls. A separate tower stands apart from the main structure, adding to its distinctive profile.

The foundation stone was laid on May 1, 1962, with Bishop Emanuel consecrating the completed building on November 29, 1964. The design emerged from modern architectural concepts that were gaining influence in the early 1960s.

The church serves as a gathering place where the Catholic community comes together for worship and celebrates its traditions throughout the year. It remains an active center for religious practice in the daily life of local parishioners.

The complex contains a parish hall, sacristy, youth areas, and kindergarten facilities alongside the main church building. Visitors should be aware of the multiple functions this site serves beyond its role as a place of worship.

Twelve semicircular stained glass windows by artist August Deppe filter daylight throughout the circular interior, creating a distinctive play of color. These windows shift and change throughout the day, adding visual richness to the space.
