St. Bartholomäus, Gothic church in Ahlen, Germany.
St. Bartholomäus features a hall church design with four bays, a short choir bay, and three-part windows decorated with fish-bladder tracery patterns.
The church, established around 800 CE on episcopal grounds, belonged to Cappenberg Monastery from 1139 to 1803 and received its current Gothic structure in the late 1400s.
The church contains a sacrament house from 1512 created by Master Bernd Bunickman from Münster, displaying intricate stone craftsmanship and religious figures.
The church stands as an architectural monument in North Rhine-Westphalia, with its western tower rebuilt between 1815 and 1819 following structural collapse.
The interior preserves two choir stalls with five seats each from the 17th century and a sacramental niche from the early 16th century.
