St. Vincentius

St. Vincentius is a Baroque church with a rectangular hall layout and a recessed choir in Hattenheim. The interior preserves its design from 1740, including ceiling paintings by Johann Voleanus that fill the space with religious imagery.

The building was reconstructed between 1739 and 1740 in Baroque style, while the church tower from 1220 survived from the medieval period and remains standing. This blend of two different eras shows how the church evolved over centuries.

The church honors Saint Vincent of Valencia, and you can see his figure at the entrance holding a fire fork that symbolizes his martyrdom. This religious connection shapes how the community understands and relates to this space.

The tower holds four bells, two of which date from the 15th and 16th centuries and survived both World Wars. These ancient bells are a rare example of medieval craftsmanship that endured despite the destruction of war.
