St. Laurentius

St. Laurentius stands as a granite structure with late Gothic brick elements, featuring cross-ribbed vaults supporting both the two-nave main hall and three-nave choir section.

The oldest section of the church dates to the 13th century, with substantial reconstruction occurring between 1566 and 1568 after damage from the city fire of 1566.

The church interior contains numerous late Renaissance artworks, including a high altar from 1576 that incorporates elements from an earlier Gothic winged altar.

The church maintains regular religious services and hosts cultural events in the center of Rheinsberg, accessible via Kirchstrasse 1.

The church tower has specially constructed bat quarters since 1999, providing shelter for the greater mouse-eared bat species.
