Keramion, Ceramics museum in Frechen, Germany.
The Keramion museum displays over 5000 ceramic artworks from 500 artists across 35 countries in a circular building with a wheel-inspired roof design.
Founded in 1971 through financing from the Cremer & Breuer group, the museum merged its private collection with municipal historical ceramics in 2002.
The permanent exhibition presents Rhine ceramics from Frechen, including Bartmann jugs with characteristic bearded faces on their vessel necks.
The museum opens Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 to 17:00, with modified hours during weekends and includes wheelchair accessibility throughout the building.
Every three years, the Frechener Kulturstiftung and Keramion present the Frechener Keramikpreis to emerging ceramic artists based on jury selections.
