Termelineskapelle Ollesheim, Chapel and architectural monument in Nörvenich, Germany
Termelineskapelle is a church building in Nörvenich located beside Gut Ollesheim estate and the parish house along Landesstrasse 263. The structure stands between Eschweiler über Feld and Nörvenich as an architectural monument of the district.
The building was constructed in 1880 after an earlier church was demolished in 1857. In 1441, the site had passed to the Cologne Antonite monastery through a donation.
The chapel bears the name of an Irish-Scottish monk called Termelines who worked as a missionary in this region. His memory remains connected to the place and reflects the early Christian roots of the area.
The chapel sits along Landesstrasse 263 and is easily reached by car. The surroundings offer space for parking and exploring the grounds around the building.
Until the late 18th century, pilgrims came to this site to collect soil and water from the monk's grave. People believed these materials could cure different ailments.
