Theater RambaZamba, Inclusive theater in Prenzlauer Berg, Germany
Theater RambaZamba is a theater in Prenzlauer Berg housed within the Kulturbrauerei complex with two separate stages. The venue develops new productions throughout the year that are presented multiple times across its seasons.
The theater was founded in 1990 and soon after premiered a production at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin. It has grown over time into an established performance space for artists with disabilities.
Performers with disabilities shape the stage with their own perspectives and stories that might otherwise go untold. Their presence makes the theater a space where different viewpoints naturally find room to be heard.
The venue is wheelchair accessible, allowing visitors with mobility needs to attend performances comfortably. An artist studio inside the building displays and sells works created by performers.
Since 2008 the theater has partnered with a nonprofit organization that provides stable employment for many ensemble members. This long-term collaboration has been crucial in helping performers build lasting careers.
