Vorder Felder-Kopf

Vorder Felder-Kopf is a mountain summit in the Ammergauer Alps standing at 1,928 meters elevation. It sits on a ridge section spanning roughly 3 kilometers between Kienjoch and Notkarspitze.

Geographic surveys over the decades established this peak as a significant reference point in the Ammergauer Alps. Mountain exploration of this region has evolved through generations of hikers and mountaineers.

The paths here are woven into Bavarian Alpine tradition, connecting various peaks for longer ridge walks. Local hikers view this summit as a natural waypoint in their mountain network.

The ascent from Enningalm takes roughly one and a half hours on marked trails. Starting points are accessible from the towns of Farchant and Griesen, with routes converging at the base of the climb.

The northern face displays steep rock walls rising roughly 200 meters, while the southern slopes are densely forested. These contrasting landscapes create distinctly different hiking experiences on each side of the ridge.
