Administration fédérale de Ver.di, Administrative building in Berlin-Mitte, Germany.
The Ver.di Federal Administration building is a modern office structure measuring approximately 154 meters long, 35 meters high, and 65 meters deep, situated directly along the Spree riverbank. Extensive glass surfaces form the exterior walls, creating bright interior spaces flooded with natural light.
Completed in 2004, the building emerged after Berlin's reunification as the city underwent major reconstruction and modernization. It represents a turning point in how the city developed new institutional spaces in the heart of Berlin.
The building serves as headquarters for Ver.di, the largest trade union representing service sector workers in Germany. Visitors and members from across the country come here to handle union matters and participate in organizational activities.
The building sits within the Mediaspree development area with excellent public transportation connections nearby. The flat surroundings are well-marked, making it straightforward for visitors to find and navigate around this location.
The building displays distinctive geometric forms and extensive glass surfaces that were unconventional for German administrative structures built in the 2000s. This open design approach sets it apart from the heavier, more solid structures typical of earlier institutional architecture.
