Wachsender Felsen

The limestone formation extends 35 meters in length and reaches up to 5 meters in height, featuring a continuous flow of calcium-rich spring water.

The earliest documentation of this geological formation appears in an altar painting from 1520 at the Usterling Church, depicting the baptism of Christ.

Local residents traditionally visit the spring on Saint John's Day to wash their eyes with the water, believing in its healing properties for eye conditions.

The geological site stands near the Isar cycling path and remains accessible throughout the year without admission fees or time restrictions.

The natural calcium deposits continuously form new layers through the interaction of mosses, algae, and mineral-rich water flowing down the stone channel.
