Villa Riefenstahl

Villa Riefenstahl is a two-story residence in Berlin-Schmargendorf with tall garden-facing windows, a pitched roof, and an attached garage structure. The house contains living spaces across both floors with a spacious entry hall that opens toward the garden.

Built in the 1930s, the residence was constructed on land that once belonged to the Wertheim department store family for filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl. Today the house stands as a protected monument reflecting the residential architecture of that era.

The entrance hall extends to the garden side, leading to a grand living room that received attention in the Berlin Illustrated Newspaper.

The villa is located in Berlin-Schmargendorf and can be viewed from the street, though it remains in private hands. Visitors can observe the house and its garden layout from the public areas surrounding the property.

The interior was completely renovated in 2019 by new owners and deliberately departs from the original design principles of the house. This transformation marks a departure from its past and demonstrates a contemporary approach to the space.
