Villa Thomana, Heritage villa in Zentrum-West district, Leipzig, Germany
The two-story Villa Thomana stands at Sebastian-Bach-Street 3, featuring high foundation, mansard roof, corner rustication, and decorative window frames with cornices.
Master builder Max Pommer constructed this Italian-inspired residence between 1881 and 1883 for Leipzig merchant Friedrich Willibald Ledig.
The restored interior contains a chamber music hall with gilded stucco work and ornaments, reflecting the architectural heritage of nineteenth-century Leipzig.
The villa serves as a rehearsal center for the St. Thomas Boys Choir and houses the office of the St. Thomas Cantor.
The ground floor foyer incorporates design elements from ancient Pompeian wall styles, with a stenciled imitation wooden ceiling.
