Wasserschloss Taufkirchen

The Wasserschloss Taufkirchen features a rectangular structure with four wings surrounding a central courtyard, complete with protective water channels on all sides.

First documented in 1263, this medieval stronghold changed ownership multiple times throughout centuries before the municipality of Taufkirchen acquired it in 2016.

The castle's Fugger Hall hosts municipal events, concerts, and celebrations, while its historic chapel contains one of the oldest altars in the Erding district.

The ground floor restaurant accommodates 150 guests, and the facility includes an elevator, wheelchair-accessible pathways, and designated parking spaces for visitors.

The castle chapel houses the remains of Saint Victor, a 13-year-old martyr, transferred from Roman catacombs to rest beneath the altar table in 1695.
