Wasserturm, Water tower in Radebeul, Germany
The Wasserturm is a structure with a red conical roof and circular base located in western Radebeul. The storage tank holds water supplied from a pumping station on Burgstraße to serve the town.
The tower was built between 1916 and 1917 and shows the engineering skill of that era with its concrete construction. The structure reflects the technological advancement that supplied growing towns in the early 20th century.
The water tower shapes the landscape of Radebeul's protected vineyard region and sits within the Lößnitz nature reserve. Visitors can take in views of the historic wine terraces and surrounding natural area from this vantage point.
The tower is open to visitors and offers a good vantage point over the surrounding landscape and wine region. Check ahead before visiting, as access is organized through a local association.
After complete renovation in the 1990s, the structure opened to visitors in 2016 and serves as an observation point. Local initiative transformed this functional building into a place where people can experience the area from above.
