Wolfcenter Barme, Wildlife park in Dörverden, Germany.
Wolfcenter Barme is a wildlife facility with multiple wolf enclosures, exhibition areas, and viewing platforms spread across a large site. The center presents animal behavior and ecology through different themed sections and interactive displays.
The site was originally a military barracks used by the Bundeswehr until it was abandoned in the early 2000s. Its transformation into a wolf park happened several years later, turning the location into a place for animal protection and nature education.
The name reflects the wolves that inhabit and can be observed here. Visitors watch the animals in their enclosures and learn through exhibits how these creatures fit into nature and human communities.
The best time to visit is during the warmer months from April through October, when the center is open throughout the week. During cooler months, limited hours apply, so check ahead to see when the facility is accessible.
The center also functions as a rescue station for injured wolves in the Lower Saxony region. The animals are cared for here and, when possible, returned to their natural environment.
