Legoland Deutschland, Theme park in Günzburg, Germany
Legoland Deutschland is a theme park in Günzburg focused on attractions and rides for families with children, spread across 43 hectares of land. The site includes over 50 rides and attractions, among them roller coasters, water rides, and interactive play areas that invite hands-on exploration and discovery.
The park opened its gates on May 17, 2002, becoming the first official Legoland park in Germany, with initial construction using 50 million Lego bricks. Since then, the site has undergone several expansions that added new themed areas and rides.
The Miniland section displays replicas of German and European landmarks built entirely from Lego bricks, representing regional architecture and engineering. Visitors can recognize monuments from their own region or from other parts of the continent and admire the craftsmanship behind each model.
Visitors can reach the park via direct bus services from Günzburg station, with operating hours varying seasonally and typically running from 10:00 to 18:00. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as the grounds are extensive and require plenty of walking.
The grounds contain a scale replica of Munich's Allianz Arena built from Lego, weighing 1.5 tons and measuring 5 meters (16 feet) in width. This construction is considered the largest Lego building in the world and required months of meticulous assembly work.
