Dellmensingen Castle, Early Baroque castle in Erbach, Germany.
Dellmensingen Castle is a three-story stone structure with a pitched roof located in Upper Swabia. The building displays clear Baroque architectural features with classical proportions and organized interior spaces.
The castle was destroyed during the Thirty Years War and rebuilt between 1650 and 1685 in the Baroque style. This reconstruction made it one of the few buildings in the region that documents this architectural period.
The chapel inside honors Saint Joseph with stone sculptures from the Baroque period. These religious artworks still mark the interior and show the spiritual role the building once held.
The interior of the castle is now divided into residential apartments and office spaces for small businesses. Since it is an occupied and active building, viewing from outside is the most practical and respectful approach.
After World War II, the castle served from 1947 to 1967 as a retirement home managed by Caritas. During this period it provided shelter for many displaced Germans who needed refuge elsewhere.
