Maria Himmelfahrt is a Roman Catholic parish church in the Roden district of Saarlouis, in the Diocese of Trier. The present building, with its Romanesque-style twin-tower facade, was rebuilt in 1949–1950 by the Saarwellingen architects Heinrich Latz and Toni Laub after the neo-Gothic church of 1898–1900, designed by Roden-born architect Wilhelm Hector, was badly damaged in the winter fighting of 1944/1945. Inside is kept a Gothic Madonna statue of about 1350, the "Madonna with the Gemstone Ring".

A parish of Roden is named in a 1222 charter of Archbishop Theoderich II of Trier, which repeats older lists going back to the 10th century. The neo-Gothic basilica by Roden-born architect Wilhelm Hector was built 1898–1900 and consecrated on 29 April 1902. Heavily damaged in the winter 1944/45 fighting, it was rebuilt 1949–1950 by Heinrich Latz and Toni Laub with a Romanesque-style double-tower facade.

The parish festival is celebrated on 15 August, the feast of the Assumption of Mary, which gives the church its name. Inside is kept the Gothic "Madonna with the Gemstone Ring", a seated Madonna with the Christ Child carved around 1350. A Romanesque sandstone capital with a dove, found in 1936 during remodelling of the old market square, is the oldest surviving remnant of a medieval church in Roden.

The church stands in the Roden district of Saarlouis, within the parish community founded in 2011 that also gathers the churches of Fraulautern, Fraulautern-Kreuzberg and Steinrausch. The patronal feast of the Assumption is celebrated on 15 August. Visitors should check local service times before coming, as the building is an active parish church rather than a monument.

Inside the church is kept a Gothic Madonna statue from around 1350, known as the "Madonna with the Gemstone Ring", seated with the Christ Child on her lap. A Romanesque sandstone capital with a dove, found in 1936 during the reshaping of the old market square, is believed to date from the late 11th or early 12th century.
