Schloss Pfersee, Medieval château in Pfersee district, Germany

Schloss Pfersee is a multi-story castle featuring four round corner towers and gable roofs, distinguished by a prominent round tower on its western front. The building now houses medical practices and office spaces, keeping it in active use today.

The site was originally known as Hermannsburg and connected to a robber knight called Schröck von Phersee, who spread fear through the region. Over the centuries, the property underwent several transformations before the von Spruner family took it over.

The vaulted hall displays rose-patterned ribbed arches from around 1600, showing the skilled craftsmanship of Renaissance builders in this region. The rooms tell stories of artistic talent through their architectural details.

The castle is protected as a historical monument and houses medical practices and offices, so it cannot be entered by visitors. You can admire the architecture from outside and view the coat of arms displayed on the portal.

The castle historically housed a tavern where writer Bertolt Brecht met with friends, adding a literary chapter to its story. This cultural episode remains part of local memory.
